Editorial principles / 05

Better days are designed in small decisions.

better.supply looks for objects that improve the conditions around attention, light, rest, work, sound, and the body without making life feel like another optimization project.

01

Start with a condition.

Light, attention, rest, movement, sound, and work come before product categories. The question is what part of a day could feel better, not what is newly available.

02

Reduce demands, not capability.

The best tools can do serious work without continually asking to be checked, charged, watched, or reorganized. Useful technology should return attention more often than it takes it.

03

Prefer understandable control.

A visible setting, physical control, replaceable part, or clear operating state makes an object easier to trust and easier to fit into a life.

04

Name the tradeoff.

Every recommendation gives something up. Price, speed, convenience, compatibility, maintenance, or space should be visible alongside what the object improves.

05

Selection comes first.

Affiliate availability never decides what appears here. The object is chosen first; a tracked destination is used only when it remains the exact product and a trustworthy place to find it.

Independence

The edit is the product.

We research the object, choose the destination, and write the recommendation independently. Some outbound links support the site through a commission, but access to a program does not determine inclusion or order.
